Classic downeast trawler by John Alden and Company. She was custom built for a her original owner in Hull, Ma. Alden Yacht Design still has her drawings on file. Her construction is cold molded double diagonal marine ply with fiberglass over. Full keel with skeg. In addition to this strong construction, she is also framed internally with steam bent oak ribs on 8" centers. She was repowered in 1994 with a rebuilt Ford Lehman 100hp diesel which now has 1300 hours.
She was previously owned by the listing broker who cruised her with his family for 9 years. She has great sea keeping ability and is very efficient consuming only about 1.75 gals per hour.
This boat once belonged to Hal Oakes, owner of Midcoast Yacht Brokerage. Oakes and his family cruised the Maine coast in this boat for 8 seasons. She underwent an extensive refit and restoration in 1994. The current owners have cruised and enjoyed her for the past 4 years.
Realistically, this boat needs a lot of paint work now but she should survey very well. She is well found and represents the opportunity to own a very comfortable cruiser. We will present all offers. Currently she is cruising the Coast of Maine and providing much enjoyment to her owners. Offers encouraged, call today.
